On March 28, 2022, the "NEXT GEN HOTELIER of the Year" awards ceremony took place for the first time in the history of the German hotel industry at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg. This award recognizes innovative young hoteliers for their exceptional commitment within the industry. As part of the "101 Future Hospitality Days" – a brand of the "101 Best" – the "101 NEXT GEN HOTELIER of the Year" awards were presented to three young, dynamic hoteliers who have made their own individual, successful contributions to the industry through their economic, successful, innovative, empathetic, and charismatic qualities, as well as their strong social skills.
Entrepreneurs, hotel owners, and industry experts impressed the audience with a diverse program of interesting presentations and key facts. TV celebrity chef Christian Rach introduced Germany's top three young hoteliers and honored their achievements in a personal speech.
In addition to a host of VIPs, including Let's Dance jury member Motsi Mabuse, Revolverheld singer Johannes Strate, and actresses Natalia Wörner, Miyabi Kawai, and Natalia Avelon, major players from the German hotel industry also walked the carpet. Singer Jasmin Wagner, influencer and model Elena Carrière, tennis player Michael Stich, Nico Hoffmann (CEO of UFA GmbH), and entrepreneur and publisher Florian Langenscheidt also celebrated with the award winners on the awards night.
