As part of the 'Love Without Violence' initiative, founded in 2020, YSL Beauty is committed to combating and preventing intimate partner violence – an often underestimated social problem that affects one in three women worldwide. Inspired by the legacy of Yves Saint Laurent, who created a symbol of independence with the women's tuxedo in 1966, the beauty brand is committed to greater protection and empowerment for women worldwide.
Together with international experts and NGOs, YSL Beauty has defined 9 warning signs of domestic violence as a central component of the initiative. These signs break down the complexity of violence dimensions and make even subtle forms of violence tangible. Recognizing these 9 warning signs enables action and targeted help to be found or offered. Within Germany, the initiative works in close cooperation with the Federal Association of Women's Counseling Centers and Women's Emergency Hotlines – Women against Violence (bff).
By 2030, YSL Beauty aims to raise awareness and educate a total of 2 million people about the 9 warning signs of intimate partner violence.
